It is not easy to go up, but it is necessary if you want to enjoy the slide after the fact. Kids seem to get this better than we do.
I am trying to work on the climb of using new media. In some ways it is easy. In others it is a huge challenge. Getting participation from others requires that they understand it and after this comprehension see that it is critical to join.
It is clear to me that media is undergoing an historic shift. We are moving beyond delivery by broadcast to delivery on demand. The traditonal broadcaster will lose significance as the branding of the programming itself grows in importance.
Going up these stairs also means that opportunities will be missed. It is however always better to have a focus and at least know what one is missing.
