Halloween in Germany

America has successfully exported a negative, at least to Germany. I noticed it first two years ago. Then we got for the first time children at our door "trick or treating."

To Americans in the USA this sounds pretty inane, but until this time this had NEVER happened in Germany for us personally. I hope that this is not a trend, but I fear that it is.

This year, the girlfriend of my brother-in-law wanted to stage a Halloween party. It was an opportunity to meet with family and her friends, and to eat some some nice pumpkin soup. I taught the participants how to make smoors.

I dislike Halloween rather extremely. It is related to many negatives. This event was however for Tia only a fun time for her to dress up and have a party.

I may be wrong, but I decided to participate. She liked the event, and the pumpkin soup was very good.
