Swimming in the Winter

Its amazing what the weather means to us. I sometimes think that it is a metaphor for that which we believe in life.

If we think that in order to be that we need to swim then what does one do in winter? The photo expresses one idea, which to us looks skewed and somehow just wrong. That is why we see it as humorous.

What if however the picture were changed to have a middle aged man in it?

We would likely then think he was not mentally stable.

But let us assume that the rules are as follows:
* You must swim regardless of temperature
* If you do not prepare for the swim you will drown or freeze
* Once you enter the water you cannot go back.YOu can only take with you what you believed you needed and took with you once you were in the water

I think it is pretty amazing what assumptions do to actions. Are our assumptions about our life correct?
