Andy was taking some photos recently of Christmas decorations so that she has a visual record of what 2005's version had to offer. (I guess this means it is all coming down soon?)
This photo struck me, as I was thinking about the New Year. It's a funny thing about stockings - one never knows what, if anything, is inside until it is the time to look at the contents.
Thats what I feel will be the case with this next year. There are new things to discover that will require actually digging into to learn about. There is likely to be a surprise or two.
I am also reminded that size is not always indicative of importance or value. Ask any child who is old enough to know what they would rather have, a really big piece of chocolate, or a very thin piece of colored paper that people seem to use when they go to the store.
I am quite busy in examining the delivery of new media. I am initially doing so as a part of two audio podcasts, one called RoughMix, the other called QuickTips. In the future NLN will be using what I learn here to better deliver the programming that we are increasingly digitizing.
This is a stocking or two. I am eager to see the contents.
