I have tried to install the importance of reading into my daughter. It is hard to tell if it is working as she is still pre-reading age.
If however interest is any indication she will be stellar. She know almosts always insists that after one reads a book to her that she "read" it back. I have had a lot to do with small children, and this is the only case I have ever heard of this personally.
I expect that she will be quite literate (she already speaks both English and German.)
