I am increasingly convinced that my local computer is growing decreasingly important and that the connection to the internet the inverse. We are moving towards a time when we we will be able to get our data when we want it where we want it, but for this we must have the datat somewhere that is commonly accessible.
As more of life gets digitized I have fewer "physical" copies of things, including important personal things like photos, videos, recordings, important correspondence etc.
A key to dealing with this is to have a place to store the material so that it can be accessed. I am a user of streamload.com, which allows me to store, for free, 10 gigabytes of data, and for various payments plans even up to terabytes.
The following link gives info about other sites that also alternatives.
