I just saw a news report about an artist who made a large amount of money creating fake pieces of art. His name is John Myatt. He had 200 items in circulation and only 80 have been retrieved to date. (More at: http://www.johnmyatt.com/genuine-fakes-gallery.php?page=2)
What interested me the most about this item was the term "Genuine Fakes".
Man, do we have a lot of that today all around us or what?
The interesting thing is that even the "fakes" take on their own life and become an item in demand. This certainly has a spiritual correspondence.
My thought - it may well be a good modern definition of idolatry. What do you think?
