Online Video Experimenting

Online Video Experimenting

I have been experimenting with how online video material is picked up. I have tried out several venues using two kinds of items:

* material I have created totally myself related to music that I write (see for example http://RuffMix.com)
* "trailers/samplers" of material that NLNtv.com distributes

There are some items to consider when doing this:

* Audience size of the group used for the promotion
* Ability to track the actual response to your promotion
* Ease of adding new material
* Ease of removing outdated material
* Creating your media so that it points to a site that will help regardless of how it is accessed

I am in the process of testing the following:

* MySpace.com -
* YouTube.com
* GoogleVideo -
* Various podcasts - in particular my personal songwriting podcast and the NLN trailer vidcast
* Vimeo.com
* Blogger.com - (I have a personal blog and an NLN blog there)

If you want more info you simply need to ask here. I will respond either to you or to all. Go ahead, pick my brain and take advantage of the research I have done at no cost to you!

I invite you to also openly add what you have learned to others.
