Kids Now

think TV is only related to what is seen on a machine by that name
think music can always be played on demand
think TV can always be paused or seen when wanted
need to be punished by a lack of "screen time"
think phones are always "to go"
think that when someone is away, they can still hear and see him
make movies, audio files & photo collages as gifts for grandparents

Kids Then

TV was mostly black/white and not too easy to find
The people in the neighborhood were the people they could meet to interact with
multitrack meant two tape recorders recording back and forth
When TV didn't have what was wanted they stopped watching
Music was on vinyl, easily scratched, and limited to their limited budget
could only share material with those whom they could physically see
could not give anything themselves because they had nothing that belonged to them
