When the days of summer wind slowly down
as the sunsets come with increasing speed
when the planet sheds its bright sunny gown
as the heat dissolves, as the light recedes
All the days of autumn with amber light
put on a sweater - you’ll need one at night
green turns to orange, red or maybe brown
leaves on the trees become leaves on the ground
it is the time that’s in between
it is the best season ever seen
temperate warmth with golden hue
some call it Fall, but it’s Autumn too
