Just this evening my daughter asked me to read to her. I agreed, but only because she chose a book that was exceedingly good to read out loud.
This made me think that there is a real difference between what is good written and what is good spoken - and sometimes both can happen - and that defines brilliance and something special.
I was able to do that with my daughter with this reading - Both were possible.
On this coming Sunday I will be preaching. I have tried to create my sermon so it will be something to HEAR live - but if I have done it well it will also be great to read. (NOTE: I doubt it will be great to read.)
Knowing your audience is still key for us mere mortals. Sometimes we can get more than one audience well - but in my experience I am better at trying to get just one - that is challenge enough,
