On the palm leaves He walked
Through a jubilant crowd
Hosianna! The Messiah! Praise His Name!
If the donkey could talk
if the rocks cried out loud
Then the name of Jesus Christ would be proclaimed
The king enters his city - but yet just as king
For He has an appointment to remove death's sting
Today is celebration, but in just a few days
"My God I am forsaken!" the savior will pray
But the next time He comes
He'll meet no death or pain
He'll come back as conqueror
as rightful king to reign
