Sabina K. Wins Best Picture, Best International Film and Best Drama
Cristóbal Krusen’s Bosnian drama, Sabina K., recently won Best Picture, Best International Film, and Best Drama Over $250,000 at the 2016 ICVM Crown Awards.
Sabina K., inspired by a true story, follows the life of Sabina Kadić, a divorced mother of two small children, who falls in love with an old friend from the Bosnian war. The two plan to marry, but things go terribly wrong when her fiancé mysteriously disappears.
“We are deeply honored by this recognition from the ICVM jurists,” said Krusen. “The film was produced in the Bosnian language and we weren’t sure how well it would connect with an American audience. This is a stirring validation that we have, indeed, created a beautiful film for a diverse audience.”
